Recap of Day 2 of the special session dealing with redistricting

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The redistricting of South Dakota’s legislature will last into Wednesday.

That return to the House State Affairs Committee never happened Tuesday afternoon as House Majority Leader Kent Peterson of Salem was taken by ambulance to Avera Saint Mary’s Hospital in Pierre after falling ill Tuesday night.  The House’s map, Grouse, was hoghoused with the Senate’s Blackbird map.   Many representatives challenged why Grouse didn’t get a committee hearing.

The House offered S-B-One-L in a “good faith effort” to compromise.

As for Peterson, Speaker of the House Spencer Gosch believes Peterson will be back to the Capitol to take part.
