ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Saturday morning the candidates running for the District 3 House & Senate seats held a forum at NSU. The candidates for the Senate seat are the incumbent Al Novstrup & his challenger Rachel Dix(both Republicans). The candidates for the House seats are incumbent Carl Perry, incumbent Kaleb Weis(who’s changing districts from 2 to 3) & challengers Brandi Schaefbauer, Rick Rylance(both Republicans) & Democrat Emily Meier.
Senator Novstrup talks about making sure to vote for Republicans who actually follow the party’s values.
Rachel Dix talks about her message if elected to the Senate.
Incumbent Carl Perry talks about the latest retirement report.
Incumbent Kaleb Weis talks about his message involving freedom.
Brandi Schaefbauer talks about the issues she’s standing for.
Rick Rylance talks about his issues involving taxes & education and went after the two incumbents regarding both.
Emily Meier who’s not facing a primary in June talks about her reasons why she is running for office.
One of the topics discussed was the issue of Amendment C.
The only candidate that’s oppose to it is Meier.
All of the other candidates on the forum are voting for it in the June Primary and explains why.
