ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Saturday morning, candidates looking to represent District 3 which is most of Aberdeen held their forum at the K.O.Lee Library. The candidates are incumbent Brandei Schaefbauer(R), challengers Al Novstrup(R) & Erin Rudner(D). Each candidates address several issues asked by the audience.
District 3 Economic Development:
Each candidate was asked the key to economic development here in Aberdeen. They all agreed that water was key to the future.
Representative Brandei Schaefbauer:

Novstrup also addressed another key to development is the continued growth of Northern State University.
Erin Rudner:
IM 28(Repeal of Consumption Tax):
Each candidate was asked about their stance to IM28 and if in favor what cuts needs to be done on the budget to compensate for it.
Representative Schaefbauer will oppose it.
Al Novstrup also plans to vote down IM28.
Erin Rudner is a reluctant supporter base on the spirit of the measure.
Rudner later clarified that she believes this measure will not pass in November so is not concern about cuts for now.
Governor’s Use of Future Fund:
South Dakota Searchlight released a story about Governor Noem’s use of the future fund for a shootng range near Rapid City. This despite the legislature voting against it every time. Each candidate was asked about that.

Government’s role on abortion:
The candidates were asked what the role government should play addressing the issue of abortion.
