Recap of last week’s weather & this week’s bitter cold temps

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Meterologist Megan Mulford with the National Weather Service office in Aberdeen looked back on the weather that occured last week & looked ahead to the cold temps happening this week.

Mulford talked about the amount of snowfall that occured during last week’s storm.

Mulford also discussed the winds that arrived causing the snowdrifts that occured.

Another factor especially in the Watertown area was the amount of ice that occured prior to the snowfall.

Looking ahead to this week, the state of South Dakota will be under wind chill advisories & watches, Mulford talks about when we could see wind chill warnings being posted.

Mulford offers advice on how to cope with the bitterly cold temperatures this week.

Aberdeen is under a Wind Chill Advisory until 6pm Wednesday when it changes to Wind Chill Watch through Christmas Eve.  The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Storm Watch starting Thursday that run until 6am Christmas Eve.  Snowfall figures could be 2-3 inches combine with 40mph wind gust.
