


ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce hosted their first Legislative Coffee on Saturday at NSU.
Legislators representing Districts 1 & 23 that were able to appear were Senator Michael Rohl(District 1), Senator Mark Lapka & Representative Scott Moore(both from District 23).
Senator Michael Rohl:
Senator Rohl has primed a number of bills so far during this session. He talks about a few of those. One of them has already been signed by Governor Rhoden(SB5).
Rohl discuss two resolutions that have cleared the South Dakota Senate.
Rohl also addressed funding for school meals for children.
Senator Mark Lapka:
Lapka discuss one of the bills he worked on. SB88(Bossly Bill) that passed unanimously out of the Senate.
Lapka is also one of the appropriators for the South Dakota Legislature. He talks about the latest sales tax figures which was greater than projected.
Lapka discuss the concurrent resolution that could end up on the ballot coming up in November.
Representative Scott Moore:
Moore talks about a bill cleared the legislature that is heading to the Governor’s desk.
Moore is also on the Appropriation Committee. He discussed money from the federal government to be used for healthcare in rural communities.
Moore talks about funding needed to help raise teacher pay in South Dakota.
