ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The city of Aberdeen & surrounding area was hit with a massive weather system that arrived starting on Christmas Eve through Tuesday.

Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Aberdeen Travis Tarver provided a recap of what happened.

Prior to the system arriving the city of Aberdeen on Saturday, December 23rd hit a new record high of 56 breaking a record established back in 1893.

City of Aberdeen hit 56 on Saturday.  The National Weather Service reported 4.7 inches of snow falling during that.  How did they determine that figure?  Tarver explains.

The three day weather event recorded about 1.8 inches of moisture at the Aberdeen Airport.
