PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission held their meeting Thursday in Pierre. One of the main topics was the status of the CO2 pipeline application made by Summit Carbon Solutions.
Lawyer Brent Koenecke representing Summit pushed for a delay with the PUC.
Koenecke believe the best way forward is to delay the process for now.
Lawyer representing landowners Brian Jorde discuss why the PUC should denied Summit’ request for a delay.
Jorde discuss his motion for the PUC to dismiss the request for the pipeline from Summit.
Commissioner Chris Nelson asked Brent Koenecke what plans they have going forward.(1:13)
Commissioner Kristie Fiegen file this motion to be approved by the PUC.
Commissioner Nelson did a substitute motion to deny Summit’s request for the pipeline.
The commission voted 2-1 against Commissioner Nelson’s motion(Commissioners Fiegen & Gary Hanson opposed)
They will defer this motion to their next meeting on April 22nd.
The commission did vote 3-0 to approve Commissioner Fiegen’s motion with an amendment to place a deadline for Summit to submit their plan to them to April 29th.
