Recap of Senator Rounds’ appearance on CNN “State of the Union”

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Sunday morning, Senator Mike Rounds appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper the host this week.  Senator Rounds addressed a variety of topics.

Senator Rounds reacted to President Trump’s putting in the Alien Enemies Act that was put in place back in the 1790s by President John Adams.

Rounds believes President Trump will follow the law and the courts in regard to the immigration crisis.

Rounds believes this is something that a majority of American do support the deportation of immigrants who are part of various terrorist groups.

Jake Tapper asked Senator Rounds about how tariffs would impact the agriculture industry.  He referenced the South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke, who expressed concerns how tariffs would impact prices.  Sombke told HubCityRadio during their annual National Farmers Union Conference about the upcoming Farm Bill which could include this.

Senator Rounds responded to those statements.

Rounds discuss Canada’s negotiation skills when it comes to trade with the U.S.

Rounds also commented on the Russians’ war with Ukraine and whether the potential peace deal could be followed between the two countries.

Rounds still has a lack of trust on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will follow the potential peace deal.
