Recap of Senator Thune’s appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Sunday morning, Senator John Thune(Senate Majority Leader) appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press with Kristen Welker and address several different topics.

Senator Thune was asked following the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

Thune was asked whether the DOJ should go after President Trump’s enemies.

On the potential government shutdown looming on Tuesday, Senator Thune’s said the ball on now on the Senate Democrats.

Thune feels compromise can be made in November once this CR is extended into November.

Thune feels that Democrats right now are holding the American people hostage over this.

Thune was also asked about how tariffs are impacting farmers.

Thune discussed the National Guard being sent to Portland, OR.

The U.S. Senate is now back in session looking to avoid a shutdown.  The U.S. House not expected to return until Wednesday.
