ABERDEEN, S.D.(WNAX)- While mild weather has lingered late into October, it also brought a major outbreak of severe weather.
South Dakota State Climatologist Laura Edwards says parts of northern South Dakota and western Minnesota saw a swarm of tornadoes earlier this month.
Edwards says it was close to a record outbreak.
Edwards says October is normally a pretty unusual month to have tornadoes.
The possibility of more severe weather is pretty low with an expected surge of much cooler air into the region next week.
