PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Tuesday, the first day of the 100th South Dakota Legislative Session, Governor Kristi Noem delivered the annual State of the State Address.  This year’s theme is a top ten list talking out why South Dakota is an example for the nation to follow.

Noem talks about Medicaid program in place in South Dakota.

Noem announce a partnership dealing with the agriculture industry.

Governor Noem praise voters for emphasizing babies during the 2024 elections.

#5 Safety:

Governor Noem reflex back on her two terms enhancing safety in the state of South Dakota.

#4 Economy:

Governor Noem was pleased to announce that the state has the lowest unemployment rate in the country.

#3 Values:

Noem express interest in returning fireworks back to Mt. Rushmore and looking forward to 2026.

#2 Freedoms:

Noem discuss not taking freedoms away from citizens during the time of COVID.

#1 People:

Governor Noem sent a message to legislators regarding the motto of the state, “Under God the People Rule.”

Donald Trump has nominated Governor Noem to be Secretary of Homeland Security.  If appointed, she would be replaced by Lt. Governor Larry Rhoden.  Noem offered her full endorsement if that happens.

Noem’s confirmation hearing is planned for Wednesday at 8am in Washington.
