AGENCY VILLAGE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday, the first meeting of the Interim State Tribal Relations Committee was held at the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Headquarters at Agency Village.

South Dakota Department of Tribal Relation Secretary Algin Young describe his role.

Young discuss what the South Dakota Legislature did in this session that impacted his job.

Roberts County State’s Attorney Dylan Kirchmeier talks about jurisdiction that the county can do based on a U.S. Supreme Court decision.

Kirchmeier talks about how law enforcement an be applied on both tribal and non-tribal land.

South Dakota Department of Public Safety Robert Perry discuss the academy installed by the Noem/Rhoden administration.

Captain Randi Erickson with the South Dakota Highway Patrol talks about their role with tribal police.  He begins by discussing their role on accidents on tribal lands.

Erickson also talks about other roles that they do.

The committee is scheduled to meet again sometime in September.
