AMES, I.A.(WNAX)- Weather observers are trying to get a perspective on the intense storm system that moved through the region in the middle of this week.
Iowa State Climatologist Justin Glisan says it was historic in many ways.
Glisan moderated the North Central Region monthly climate update. He says damage was widespread from severe thunderstorms and straight line winds.
Glisan says there was also an outbreak of tornadoes.
At least seven tornadoes were also reported in Nebraska during the storm.
