Recap of Thursday’s Aberdeen Chamber Connection series

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Connections Series continued Thursday at the K.O.Lee Public Library.

Feature speaker was YAPA/Teen Center Supervisor Nick Eilts.  The theme is Youth Engagement.

YAPA stands for Youth Adult Partnership Aberdeen and was established back in 2005.  Prior to that Eilts talked about they engaged with young people.

The YAPAtorium now serve youth ages 10-17.  Eilts go over the numbers for 2025.

Eilts discuss the most common time of day for tweens and teens to get into trouble.

Eilts inform the group what commonly occurs during the 3-6pm timeframe.

Eilts addressed two issue concerning with teens.  One dealing with the concern over recreational drug use.

The other once is dealing with alcohol use among teenagers.

Elits address the possilbly connecting with new therapeutic center coming to Aberdeen.
