ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Connections Series continued Thursday at the K.O.Lee Public Library. Feature speaker was Grace Chipman, Executive Director of the Aberdeen Area Arts Council. The theme of the speech was Building Our Creative Community.

The budget for the arts council is around $150,000 per year. She talks about how they receive funding.
Besides donations, the Aberdeen Area Arts Council also accept art supplies. Chipman talks about one of her dreams for the council.
The council works in conjunction with the city of Aberdeen, the Aberdeen School Boards, and Northern State University. Chipman describes an upcoming event taking place at NSU at the end of this month.
That event will take place at the Black Box Theatre at NSU.
Chipman talks about social media. Most common site they use is Facebook.

Chipman offered a challenge to everyone to try involve art everyday of their lives.
