Recap of Work Session done by the City Council on Tuesday

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council prior to their meeting on Tuesday did a work session to address a variety of topics.

Councilman Rich Ward recapped the session.  The main focus was on the 6th Avenue bridge that is scheduled to be worked on in 2027.

Ward believes this will give an opportunity for the city to look into the design of the bridge.

Another item addressed in the work session was the CAPS program.  This would allow the city to implement a one cent sales tax for projects but must be approved by 60% of the voters.

Also was addressed was the future of data centers.  Ward discuss how that could impact Aberdeen in the future.

One issue scheduled to be discussed wasn’t talked about much was the issue of TIFs.
