YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The 2020 budget that South Dakota legislators put together was signed by Governor Kristi Noem on the final day of the 2019 session last Friday.
Legislators increased spending slightly to just under $1.7 billion.
Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, says they used the best estimates they had.
Hunhoff says they felt pretty good about revenue projections when they set the budget.
Blizzards and damaging flooding hit much of the state during the last two weeks of March.
