MITCHELL, S.D. (KMIT) – This weekend’s Memorial Day holiday is expected to see a record number of travelers, that according to Marilyn Buskohl of AAA South Dakota.
She says there are a couple of reasons for the boost in numbers.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety urges drivers to be safe. This year’s Memorial Day crash reporting period starts at 6 p.m. this evening and ends at 11:59 p.m. Monday. During the 2018 Memorial Day report, there were 112 total crashes, 25 injury crashes, 35 people injured and one fatality.
