YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Red Cross shelter in Yankton is still open and serving people impacted by record flooding on the James River.
Carrie Odegaard is a Red Cross volunteer at the shelter.
Odegaard says they have seen quite a few people.
Despite some reports on social media, Odegaard says they have not turned anyone away.
Odegaard says the shelter, located at The Center in Yankton, will stay open as long as people need a place to eat and stay.
