Regents to push for needs-based scholarship

MADISON, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Board of Regents will be pushing for a needs-based scholarship as their top priority in the 2020 legislature.

Regents Executive Director Paul Beran talked about the outlines of the “Dakota’s Promise” plan at their meeting this week at Dakota State University in Madison.

Beran says they are refining the proposed guidelines.

Beran says what they will propose to the legislature is a compromise.

The scholarship plan was defeated in this year’s legislative session.
