VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Board of Regents and university presidents have been pushing for the last couple of years for a needs-based scholarship program.
USD President Sheila Gestring says they haven’t dropped the idea.
Gestring says they are continuing the necessary discussions.
Gestring says they want to bring it in front of legislators next year.
The Regents had asked for a million dollars from the state general fund to start the program earlier this year, with each campus raising matching dollars.
