AMES, Iowa (WNAX) – The remnants of tropical storm Cristobal continues to charge north through Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Dennis Todey, head of the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa says it is an unusual occurrence.
Todey says the current weather pattern allowed the storm to move almost straight north.
Todey says even though it is moving fast, it could drop a lot of rain.
Todey says a cold front further west has dropped snow on Wyoming and Colorado, closing I-80 for a time in Wyoming.
