PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota Bureau of Administration and Human Resources has been given the green light to move ahead with repairs to the Capitol Lake monument on the lake’s west side. Deputy State Engineer Kristine Day told the Capitol Complex Beautification and Restoration Commission they want to make repairs near the Flaming Fountain.
A rubber membrane under the pavers is trapping water with no place for it to go.
Day says they want to approach the repairs differently than in the past.
The repairs are expected to begin yet this fall and be finished in the spring.
