In the final days of the 2022 South Dakota legislative session, House Majority Leader Kent Peterson of Salem had to personally smoke out some of his bills from the Appropriations Committee to fund the USD Discovery Center and the DSU Cyber Lab both in Sioux Falls.

He says its about opportunities for young people.

Peterson says the two centers in Sioux Falls will help create more and better jobs.

Peterson says the projects are public – private partnerships.

Peterson is term limited and won’t be returning to the legislature next year.
