ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- Brandei Schaefbauer, a wife and mother, and a first term District 3 Representative, is announcing her intent to run for a second term for the 2025-2026 legislative session. As she reflects on this past year, she says “I have had the honor to represent District 3 and South Dakota in the House of Representatives. I had the privilege of having primed and passed some great bills for the state of South Dakota. The Physical Therapists now have their own board to self-govern their doctoring profession; fingerprints are no longer required when renewing an Enhanced or Gold Concealed Carry permit; I helped counties have the authority to appoint a County Coroner without population restrictions if no coroner is on the general ballot, along with a few other bills with the help of some Senate sponsors. I always voted on the side of life, I voted to protect minor children, I helped pass the largest tax cut in South Dakota history, and I stood with landowners whose private property rights were and are under attack.”
