VERMILLION, S.D.(WNAX)- There were over thirty first time members of the 2023 South Dakota legislature.

Among them was District 17 Representative Chris Kassin of Vermillion.

He was assigned to the Appropriations Committee and said it was a full load.

Kassin says he learned a lot about the workings of state government.

Kassin say they did the necessary work to take care of people.

The Appropriators came up with a seven point four billion dollar budget that passed both Houses with a two thirds majority.
