Representative Mike Stevens react to proposed repeal of grocery tax

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem proposed cutting the four and a half percent state sales tax on groceries, legislators have not yet seen many details.

District 18 Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says holding towns harmless is important.

Stevens says there are questions about the overall economy.

Stevens says they will be cautious in approaching the tax cut.

Legislators start the 2023 session on January 10th.
