Representative Mike Weisgram provides a preview of this year’s session

FORT PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- District 24 Representative Mike Weisgram of Fort Pierre wants to serve another two-year term.

He says he understands the importance of the work lawmakers do.

South Dakota’s 99th annual legislative session begins Tuesday. Weisgram will again chair the House Commerce and Energy Committee and expects to be busy from the start.

He says at the end, putting together a balanced budget for the state is at the heart of what legislators do.

Weisgram is also the vice-chair of the Retirement Laws Committee and is a member of the Health and Human Services Committee. He encourages constituents to reach out to him about any legislation that peaks their interest.

Weisgram is finishing his second term in the House. He joins fellow District 24 republicans Representative and House Majority Leader Will Mortenson of Fort Pierre and Senator Jim Mehlhaff of Pierre who are also seeking reelection.

District 24 includes Haakon Hughes, Hyde, Stanley and Sully counties.
