Representative Mortenson talks about why he’s running again

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- District 24 Representative Will Mortenson of Pierre is seeking another two-year term in House Chamber.  The 35 year-old will be serving in his fourth year in the House this winter.

The current House Majority leader says he’s been a champion for the ideals that are important to central South Dakota and specifically District 24; a District that stretches from Highmore to Philip.

Mortenson says he will keep a close watch on Missouri River water use if elected to a third term.

Mortenson is holding a campaign kickoff and legislative preview Thursday night at at the St. Charles on Capital from five to seven pm.   Representative Mike Weisgram and Senator Jim Mehlhaff have said they also intend on running again however neither have made formal announcements yet.  District 24 includes Hughes, Stanley, Sully, Hyde and Haakon Counties.
