PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Democrats in the South Dakota legislature are finding that their slim numbers can be critical in moving some major spending bills.
Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says democrat votes made the difference in passing some bills on crossover day.
Cwach says some of the votes in the past week are previews of what is ahead in the final days of the session.
There are two budget bills being developed, one in the House, another in the Senate. Cwach says it will take some compromising to bring them together.
The general state budget is usually the last bill approved on the final day of the session.
