WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – While Members of Congress aren’t due to return to Washington until after Labor Day, talks are still going on over the next economic stimulus plan.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says Republicans and Democrats are still a ways apart.
Thune says they want to make the next round more targeted.
Thune says they all have to be more aware of the rapidly expanding federal debt and deficit.
Republicans have proposed about $1 trillion while Democrats are pushing $3 trillion.
