Republicans still looking to grow in South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Republicans have been dominant in South Dakota politics for many years, but still have higher goals.

Republican Party Chairman Dan Lederman says they can still grow.

Lederman says the top of the ticket is driving their election interest this year.

There are three issues on the ballot this year, two dealing with legalization of marijuana and one with sports betting in Deadwood.

Lederman says they haven’t taken positions on those, yet.

Republicans also have over 115,000 more registered voters than Democrats.
