Revenge: NSU Gets Back At Beavers in Regular SZN Finale

Minot, ND (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University men’s basketball team capped off the regular season on Saturday with a win on the road at Minot State. It was the Wolves’ first win in Minot since the 2019-20 season.

  • Northern led for the entirety of the contest, scoring 36 points in the first and 40 in the second
  • The Wolves shot a game high 49.1% from the floor, 40.7% from the 3-point line, and 75.0% from the foul line; defensively holding the Beavers to a shooting percentage of 9.1% from beyond the arc
  • NSU out-rebounded MiSU 35-32 and recorded a game leading 13 assists and 11 made 3-pointers, while adding five steals
  • Northern scored 26 points in the paint, 19 points off the bench, and nine points off turnovers, while Minot scored 46 points in the paint, ten points off the bench, and ten points off turnovers
  • Joshua Book and Simon Akena led the team with 16 points apiece; Book tallied eight assists and five rebounds, while Akena notched four rebounds and two assists, shooting 60.0% from the floor
  • Marshawn Smith led the team off the bench with 14 points, knocking down 5-of-6 from the floor including three from beyond the arc
  • James Glenn was the final Wolf in double figures, dropping 11 points with seven rebounds
  • Tobi Obiora recorded his second straight game with double figure rebounds, pulling down ten and adding nine points and two assists
  • Benjamin BowenTy Rogers, and Nelson Reynolds tallied the final ten points for NSU in the win
