Richmond Lake Shoreline Clean up event

ABERDEEN, SD (Hub City Radio)

With water being pumped out of Richmond Lake in the process of construction work on the Dam, a lot more shoreline is accessible and visible than it has been for decades. One lake enthusiast and her family saw an opportunity to do something positive for the area. Samantha Kolb tells us what the inspiration was for getting this movement started.

Kolb took to Social Media and the movement kept growing, even attracting the attention of the State GF&P, which lead to a collaborative effort, and gloves, claw grabbers, water bottles all being provided and the Richmond Lake Association also helping with dumpsters.

Kolb is hoping for a big turn out for the event that goes from 6 until 9 Tuesday July 21st

The crew will start off at the GF&P District office on the Youth Camp road on the North side of Richmond Lake.. with the Dam road being closed, there are alternative routes from the North or you can go the long way around the lake to the west to get to the North Side. There is a Facebook page for the event that has directions from 129th ave and further information.
