Rick was born on July 5th, 1959 to Leslie Holland Sr. and Jeanette (Sandve) Holland in Britton, SD. Growing up, he lived in Langford, Wetonka, Athol, and Ipswich, SD. He worked for the Edmunds County Highway Department for 32 years.
Rick never had any kids of his own, but was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He loved kids and loved to teased them relentlessly. He always had something to say to rile you up! Whenever family or friends called needing help, he was always there. He lived up to his reputation as the youngest in the family, getting away with anything and everything in the house when he was younger. The volume always went up a few notches when he was around, but there was never a dull moment. He liked to help with the Christmas cookies every year, mostly because he could take a bag of them home at the end of the night. He enjoyed driving around Ipswich and stopping in at people’s houses to say hi and visit. A hole will be in the hearts of many for a very long time.
He is survived by his siblings: Carol Frybarger, Leslie (Deb) Holland Jr. Cynthia (Larry) Fetter, and Debra L. Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: David Holland, Shirley Fries, Douglas Holland, and Ron Holland.
