ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – The South Dakota Department of Transportation has begun asphalt concrete work on Highway 281 from north of Aberdeen to Mellette.
The project includes cold milling of asphalt concrete, concrete pavement repair and asphalt paving operations. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction and controlled with flaggers at the paving/milling portion of the project.
This work is part of a $17.1 million contract with Central Specialties, Inc. to do repair work on Highway 281 in the Aberdeen region.
The expected completion date for the asphalt concrete paving is mid-August, with an overall completion date of Sept. 27.
