ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Aberdeen City Engineer and Public Works Director Robin Bobzien has been hired as the next city manager.
The Aberdeen City Council made that decision on a unanimous vote following a lengthy executive session Monday, Aug. 28.
City Manager Joe Gaa put his notice in that he was resigning back on August 15th to take over as City Manager in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Bobzien was one of three internal candidates who expressed interest in the post. The other two were City Finance Officer Jordan McQuillen and Planning and Zoning Director Brett Bill. Both Bill and McQuillen had previously applied for the city manager position.
City Manager Joe Gaa previously tendered his resignation after being hired as city manager in Marshalltown, Iowa. His last day with the city of Aberdeen is Sept. 8. Bobzien’s first day as city manager will be Sept. 11.
