The memorial service for Ronald Rohwedder, 80, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Peck officiating. Ronald died Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Avera St. Luke’s in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Visitation will be one hour prior.

Ronald Lee Rohwedder was born on November 23, 1945, in Aberdeen, SD, to parents, William ‘Bill’ and Ruth (Broadbent) Rohwedder. He graduated from Barnard High School in 1963 and went to work at Safeguard, now Hub City. He had two children, Tracy and Troy. He met Rita Hruby while working in Colorado and they were married, September 4, 1981, in Williston, ND. To this union; they had two children: Trisha, and Mike.

Ronald worked as a machinist and progressed into management with Hub City for 50 years before he retired. He loved Dirt Track Racing and took immense pride in his family and his grandbabies. He also enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Ronald is fondly remembered as a hardworking, loving, wise, kind soul, if not a bit stubborn. He was highly organized, neat, gave the best advice, and always put everyone else first.

Grateful for having shared Ronald’s life are his wife, Rita Rohwedder; children, Tracy (Lee) Olson, Troy Rohwedder, Trisha (Kevin) Kraft, and Mike (Stacey) Rohwedder; grandchildren, Matt Olson, Katie and Tyson Kraft, Makayla (Travis) Hearnen, and Jayla, Delayne, and Porter Jones; and great-grandchild, Townes Hearnen; brother, Roger (Linda) Rohwedder; and sister-in-law, Elaine Rohwedder.

Preceding Ronald in death are his parents, Bill and Ruth Rohwedder; brother, Rex Rohwedder; in-laws, Robert and Mary Hruby; and his nieces.
