Rosebud Sioux Tribe joins three other tribes in banning Gov. Kristi Noem

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council announced on Thursday that Governor Kristi Noem would be banned from its reservation.

The tribe, in a two-page letter, detailed how their decision to ban the Governor was not solely based on recent allegations that other tribes have described as “racially charged,” but also from what they referred to as “an ongoing strained relationship” with Noem since she took office in 2019.

The tribe said they stand in solidarity with the Oglala Sioux Tribe, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, who have banned Noem from their respective reservations over the last few months.
