WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – Governors of Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri, along with Congressional representatives in the Missouri River basin are calling for more oversight of the Corps of Engineers and their management of river reservoirs.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says he has long been critical of the forecasts coming from the Corps.
Rounds says he continues to push the Corps to follow up on their proposal to put a real time snow pack monitoring system on the plains.
Rounds says the money allocated for the system hasn’t ended up where it was intended.
Rounds says he has met with the leaders of the Corps in Washington to continue that discussion.
