Rounds says bill was focused on reform at local level

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The U.S. House approved a Democratic backed police reform bill which stands little chance of being debated in the Senate.

A Senate reform bill, introduced by Senator Tim Scott, was blocked by Democrats.

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says the Senate bill was expansive.

Rounds says the Senate bill was focused on reform at the local level.

Rounds says the sponsor was willing to let Democrats amend the bill.

A spokesman for the President said he would veto the House bill if it made it through the Senate.
