Rules in place for the funding on housing infrastructure projects

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The first bill the South Dakota legislature passed this session was one approving the use of two hundred million dollars in state and federal funds for housing infrastructure projects.

Yankton City Manager Amy Leon says the rules for the program have been released.

Leon, who is President of the state Municipal League, says they hope to get more information out to their members.

Leon says applications may be open before the rules are officially approved.

Thirty percent of those dollars are set aside for Sioux Falls and Rapid City, with the rest available to towns and cities on a first in, first out basis.
