Runoff predicted still to be below normal at Gavins Point Dam

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While improving slightly from last month, predicted runoff into the Missouri River system will be well below normal this year.

Ryan Larson is with the Corps of Engineers Omaha Division Missouri River Basin Water Management Office.

Larson says they watch several inflow indicators.

Larson says mountain snowpack fell below normal again this year.

Releases from Gavins Point Dam near Yankton are expected to average about twenty thousand cubic feet per second for the next few weeks.
