Ruth Kathryn (Bloom) Stoller, 99 of Doland, SD went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 16, 2024.
Ruth was born to John and Kathryn (Schumacher) Bloom on March 7, 1925, one of five children. Ruth graduated from Doland High School and entered St. Luke Nursing School, in Aberdeen, SD. Graduating as an RN in 1946, Ruth worked in Aberdeen.
On June 9, 1948, she married Wayne Stoller, and they raised their family (Kathleen, Woody, Don) on their farm northwest of Doland, SD. They raised grain and livestock for forty years. In 1996, they moved to Doland, and their son Don continued to operate the farm. Following Wayne’s death in 2000, Ruth lived independently until 2018; then she entered the Redfield Eastern Star Home, where she received loving care and kindness.
Church, family, and friends blessed Ruth’s life. She was a faithful, lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Doland, where she served on Dorcas Society and Altar Guild. Ruth’s colorful crocheted afghans, beautiful flower gardens, delicious caramel rolls, and keen wit created cherished memories.
Grateful to share in Ruth’s life are her children: Kathleen (Kent) Cartner of Roanoke, VA and sons, Grant and Eric; Wayne (Jean) Stoller of Prince George, BC; former daughter-in-law, Valorie Stoller of Aberdeen, SD and children Rebecca, Michael, and Chad as well as their children; and Don Stoller of Doland, SD. Ruth is also survived by her brothers, Dayln Bloom of La Mesa, NM and Everett (Pat) Bloom of Kingston, TN; in addition to nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, sisters, and parents.
“We will dearly miss Ruth, but know that because of Christ, His Cross, and Resurrection; we will see her again.”
