WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The phase one trade agreement between the U.S. and China was signed today in Washington D.C. by U.S. President Donald Trump and China’s Vice Premier. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal who serves as American Farm Bureau’s Vice President was at the event.
He says America’s exports will increase to China over the next two years.
VanderWal says U.S. tariffs on China will remain in place until the second phase of the trade deal is signed.
VanderWal says the phase one deal also includes China agreeing to structural reforms including those on sanitary and phytosanitary rules as well as biotechnology and tariff rate quotas.
