Safe Harbor displays bring awareness to abuse

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Safe Harbor of Aberdeen has produced a pair of displays to help bring awareness to abuse.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.

For the second year in a row, Safe Harbor has a display of bluejeans on the overpass on N. Second St. MacKenzie Gerth, Rural Advocate for Safe Harbor, talked about that display.

She said there are about five dozen jeans with messages, statistics and resources hung on the overpass and they tend to get a lot of attention.

Safe Harbor also has a shoe display in Anderson Park along Sixth Ave. in front of the Aberdeen Area Senior Center in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Both displays will be up until the end of the month.
