Salvation Army to start free summer lunch schedule

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The Salvation Army will start serving free lunches to children on Monday, May 18.

Major Mary Hunt said that preparations are being made to serve lunches at eight different parks again this summer.

Hunt said that nearly 200 lunches are handed out each weekday.

Locations and times include 16th Street Park (11:30-11:40 a.m.), Frontier Park (11:45-11:50 a.m.), Aldrich Park (Noon-12:10 p.m.), Manor Park (12:15-12:25 p.m.), Dakota Square Eastside (12:15-12:25 p.m.), Roosevelt Park (12:30-12:40 p.m.), Melgaard Park (12:55-1:10 p.m.), and Central Park (1:20-1:30 p.m.).

Hunt talked about the volunteers needed to implement the program.

She said if people are interested in helping out, they can contact the Salvation Army.
