SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- A major announcement by the city of Sioux Falls and Sanford Health Wednesday.

Sanford is offering to sell its Tea/Ellis Wellness Center on the west side of the city for nine-million dollars, even though it’s valued at 15-million dollars.

Mayor Paul TenHaken says the timing is perfect.

The Mayor says the purchase will be a huge boost to city efforts to increase indoor recreational opportunities for residents.

The Aquatics Bond will provide financing for replacing pools at Kuehn Park and Frank Olson Park, as well as purchasing and updating the facility from Sanford.
