Sanford researcher to speak at Northern Tuesday

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – A Sanford researcher whose work examines cell trafficking defects in kidney and brain diseases will speak at Northern State University.

Dr. Indra Chandrasekar will be the keynote speaker at the 2019 NSU Research, Scholarship and Creativity Forum, set for Tuesday, March 19, in Northern’s Beulah Williams Library.

The event is free and open to the public. Chandrasekar, assistant scientist with Sanford Research, will speak from 2 to 2:50 p.m. in the library.

The rest of the forum’s schedule is as follows:

  • Noon-12:50 p.m.: Poster session and opening reception: Student researchers will present posters; light refreshments will be served.
  • 1-1:50 p.m.: NSU graduate panel: Three Northern graduates will discuss the role of undergraduate research in their success as NSU students and beyond.
  • 3-3:45 p.m.: Oral presentations: Student researchers will give talks on their projects.
