Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State University football program will be looking for its next offensive coordinator effective immediately. As announced earlier today by Minnesota State, Ryan Schlichte will be joining the Mavericks staff.
“I am proud of what Coach Schlichte accomplished during his time at Northern State,” noted head coach Mike Schmidt. “He’s a talented coach and a remarkable person. I am happy about this opportunity for Coach Schlichte and his family. We thank him for his contributions to NSU football and wish him all the best.”
Schlichte spent four seasons with the football program as a graduate assistant and the offensive coordinator. He coached four all-conference performers in his two seasons at the helm of the offense. In addition, seven offensive school records were broken in 2022 and 2023.
Schmidt added, “We have a proven history of discovering and nurturing exceptional talent within our offensive coaching team. I am confident that we will succeed in attracting a top-tier coach to fulfill this position once more.”
A search for Schlichte’s replacement will begin immediately.
